Dear Captain Butchie,
I would like to state that anyone interested in a guided fishing trip should do themselves justice by hiring Capt. Butch Rickey. As a Tampa Bay native that has routinely caught one hundred snook per year as far as I can remember, having the day I spent with Capt. Butch I thought was only possible in dreams. The captain provided a wonderful evening of fellowship and education at his fishing home the night before our trip.
The morning started with us on the flats netting bait and watching a beautiful sunrise, and within a short time, with the baitwell full of pinfish, what the captain called the "magic bait", we were off to the beach. When we got to the spot, there were guides and their clients fishing various white baits and catching a few snook. But when we started casting the pinfish, the attention turned to us from the snook as well as all others around. I turned to Capt. Butch and said, "You were right", and he just smiled. I landed 36 snook and 2 trout in three and a half hours with 10 pound tackle, which for me was a thrill, being a heavy tackle fisherman. And the entire time was not only non-stop action, but the knowledge about snook and fishing in general shared with me was priceless.
Please take this advice from a fellow fisherman, hire Captain Butch Rickey. There's no question I will many times again.
