Fishing Report for Week Ending 3/29/97

by Capt. Butch Rickey

This last full week of March wasn't a productive one. I had van problems that kept me off the water several days, and had a trip cancelled at the last minute by someone who was referred to me by a friend, and from whom I had no deposit. Someday I'll learn!

I did manage to get Paul Center of Normal, Illinois, out for a day of fun. It was a bit windy out of the southeast, and the high was forecasted at 89. Paul insisted that I join him in the fishing since it was just him and me. Paul was a great guy and a very good angler, so the day was more like a day off fishing with a buddy than a day of work. We had a great time until Paul's cold caught up with him, and Paul caught 3 redfish, 2 trout to 20", and 10 nice snook to 26".

With the weather and water so warm, it's almost certain the the pass and beach snook fishing will start early this year.
